Francis Marion University and the School of Education invite applicants for a tenure-track position in Early Childhood Education. The successful candidate will be expected to have positive K – 3rd grade public school teaching experience, and an established record of, or demonstrated potential for: performance-based teaching, instructional application of technology, professional service, and scholarly productivity.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching education courses in person, and online, at the undergraduate and graduate These courses mightalso include preparing teacher candidates.
  • Supervising student field and clinical experiences
  • Academic advising
  • Participating in program assessment and accreditation activities
  • Conducting and/or developing and publishing research
  • Serving on school/university committees
  • Participating with professional organizations

FMU Preferences: Earned doctorate (Ph.D preferred) in Early Childhood or Elementary Education from an NCATE/CAEPaccredited institution. ABD with imminent completion date will be considered. Competence in program assessment and experience working in a Professional Development Schools (PDS) setting. Additional Requirements: The successfulcandidate will be required to obtain NIET (National Institute for Excellence in Teaching) certification if not currently certified) within the first year of employment.

 Professional Development: Francis Marion University provides generous support for conference travel when presenting andother forms of professional development. Summer research stipends are available on a competitive basis.
